Bistable Reed Relays
The MT series offers a selection of bistable Reed Relays. This means, the contact pulls in after a positive impulse for example and remains in its new position even after cutting off the nominal voltage. It will move back to its initial position by a negative impulse. This offers the advantage of no power consumption between the switching actions. The required switching power is very low so that the drive can be realized by a CMOS gate.

To operate the relay from the output stage of a CMOS gate, we suggest the use of a RC combination with the value from 10 to 20 ms.
1 coil types:
This ensures reliable switching from both the positive and negative going edges of any square wave signal generated by the CMOS circuit (see diagram).At this types one coil can apply to switch on and the other coil to switch off.
